Loved it...Definitely worth itThis is the best solution out there for musicians to light a stage. They are light, incredibly simple and fast to setup, and a good value. One will wash a medium size stage, we are using two of them for front lighting. With the wireless controller its as simple as plugging these into the wall and go. The case is reasonably sturdy and good enough for most applications. These take up almost no space in our trailer as well which freed up space for other things. The stand is solid and should last for most applications. If you use two or more trees you may want to use the wireless usb dongle sold separately since the trees can get out of synch with each other when both are communicating individually with the wireless controller. If you wade through the specs on the chauvet site you will see that these are actually brighter than many of the stand alone lights they sell. The lights can be controlled individually through dmx if you would like a more complex control scheme but you still retain the simplicity of one power chord and wireless dmx. These have performed even better than expected and I will probably purchase three more trees of this model or the 4bar usb model (related model with usb wifi) for backlighting.UPDATE 4/21/17: I now use four of these, two for backlighting and two up front. I use a fog machine and get good beams out of these, not as good as the old traditional incandescent pars but as good as your going to get with LEDs. I control these as if they were individual PARs with a dedicated controller. I am very satisfied with these.N/AOrdered 2 of these because of the wireless capability, plus DMX ability. The Stand mounts on the crossbars are proprietary to the stands. On the first use both stands broke the wing bolt and nut assembly holding the stands up. The only thing holding the lights up then was the pin and hole reinforcements. Moreover, I also found the lights are 4 or 16 CH DMX therefore, all of the lights will do the same task in 4 ch function or you have limited function of each fixture in DMX mode. For the cost of these I was disappointed and since both mounts broke, I can't return them . They do function as specified, but are not as bright as I had hoped. They will work for my use, but for the money I feel slighted. I wanted and needed the most portable and quick way to set a system up. I have it, it just was costly and limited.Unlike the regular 4 Bar, the 4 Bar Tri has a much more theatrical quality of light. The light "blends" and diffuses well so it looks like a gelled Fresnel (for you old schoolers who know what that is.) Here are the only drawbacks:1) It's heavier than the regular 4 bar.2) It doesn't have the top mount wing nuts like the 4 bar for mounting other instruments. That's about it. Oh, and I am still unsure why Chauvet sells a light like this with a foot controller. I have like 3 of them now. What do you do with them? I'd rather have a break on the price and buy the controllers separately, which I wouldn't need because I'm using DMXNice light bar. The lights are bright, light enough to move around easily, yet durable enough to not feel like they are going to break any time soon. We used two of these light bars, this one and an older version of this to light up a gym sized worship area for kids camp and they worked great! It's a bummer you can't control each light individually, but that's not really what it's built for. Then light tree works great and the ir6 remote works great with it.I bought a pair of these for simple stage lighting. Was quite pleased with the ease of setup and functionality as I have no experience with stage lighting. The fact that it comes with stands, and a case was just great. Good bang for buck. Light weight is also good in terms of stage setup. Would definitely recommend.Had the 4-bar Tri for nearly a year and used it at least 7 times. So far had no problems and I been please with item. Since I'm a musician and play on the stage, the colors adds plus to the visual at a quick set-up. The lights are decently bright and the ease of setup, can't beat that. The Chauvet 4bar USB is an older design ("chiclet" LEDs) but still gives very good stage wash lightning, is easy to setup, and is designed to work with Chauvet D-FI USB dongles. Comes with a wireless footswitch that has three separate pedals - Auto, Sound, Blackout. The controls and display settings are on the 4bar. The included tripod is average quality but workable. Setup time is quick as no wiring other than AC power is required. Unfortunately the included power cord is inadequate as it's only 6 feet long...you'll need an extension cord.Footswitch - Auto pedal: The "Auto" footswitch pedal cycles through the solid light colors until you get to the "Auto" setting mode that activates a preprogrammed changing pattern of light colors. There are 8 different selectable "Auto" light patterns (P1 to 8) to choose from. One foot switch can be used to control more than one 4bar but you will find the signal can easily get corrupted or lost if the 4bars are not close to the footswitch. The closest 4bar might get the signal while one further away might miss it and the 4bars will get out of sync.Footswitch - Sound pedal: Similarly the "Sound" footswitch pedal activates the sound mode that also has 8 different selectable sound activated patterns (S1 to 8). When the music stops the light scene will freeze at its last value, when music resumes the scene changes resume. The microphone and sound sensitivity dial are on the 4bar. Light patterns change with the music and seem to key off low notes like kick drums or bass."Auto" and "Sound" selectable patterns vary - some are aggressive light changes and speed and some are more subdued with fewer variations. Patterns can vary individual lights, colors, chase, fade in / out, etc. You select the desired pattern (1 to 8) from the 4bar control panel or you can use the remote control to toggle through them. I believe the speed of the light /scene changes can also be adjusted.Footswitch - Blackout pedal: Lights On / Off switch. A short press activates immediately, a long press gives a fade out effect.USB: The USB dongles (not included and cost $50+ each) are used to allow a Chauvet compatible DMX light controller to wirelessly control several 4bars (as well as other D-FI compatible lights). They can also be used without a DMX controller by the footswitch (or remote control) to activate two or more 4bars with one 4bar acting as the master and the others acting as slaves. The footswitch (or remote control) signal is recognized only by the master 4bar USB and whatever signal you activate on the master will be sent from the master to the slaves via the D-FI USBs. The big advantage of using the D-FI USB's for footswitch control is that they have much better range, no wiring required, and each slave 4bar will stay in sync with the master 4bar. The footswitch can be located near the master 4bar and the slave 4bar will still receive a signal from some distance away (across a large stage). The D-Fi's are configured by dip switches to designate each USB as a transmitter (master) or a receiver (slave).Remote Control: Kind of a cheesy and very small device but kind of handy as well. Allows direct control of the 4bar controls for specific light colors, cycles through the Auto or Sound patterns (1 to 8), Blackout, light color adjustments, etc.Chauvet instruction are not overly detailed and the control design is just not very intuitive, thus the minus 1 star on the review. The User manual must be downloaded from Chauvet…make sure you download version 2. The included light cases are reasonable (nice to have!) but the tripod bags won't last long
